Vol. 50 No. 1

Unemployment Assistance Bill, 1933—From the Seanad.

I propose to ask the Dáil to agree with the four amendments from the Seanad. Two of them are only drafting amendments.

Did I understand the Minister to say something about drafting amendments?

Nos. 3 and 4 are drafting amendments.

The following amendments from the Seanad were put and agreed to:

1. Section 7. A new sub-section added at the end of the section as follows:—

(3) Every regulation made under this Act shall be laid before each House of the Oireachtas as soon as may be after it is made, and if a resolution annulling such regulation is passed by either House of the Oireachtas within the next subsequent twenty-one days on which that House has sat after such regulation is laid before it, such regulation shall be annulled accordingly, but without prejudice to the validity of anything previously done under such regulation.

2. Section 10, sub-section (3). The words "or such greater or lesser amount as shall for the time being be prescribed" deleted in lines 22-23.

3. Section 13, sub-section (1). The word "his" deleted in line 54 and the word "current" substituted therefor.

4. Section 28, sub-section (2). The words "unemployment assistance fund" deleted in line 33 and the words "Exchequer in such manner as the Minister for Finance shall direct" substituted therefor.

Message to be sent to the Seanad accordingly.
