asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state in respect of Unemployment Insurance in the year, 1932-33 (1) the total amount of receipts from employers and work people; (2) the total amount of payments to work people; (3) the total number of the insured population, distinguishing (a) men, (b) women, (c) boys, and (d) girls.

(1) The total receipts from employers and workpeople in the financial year 1932-33 amounted to £526,228 4s. 7d.

(2) The total payments to workpeople in the same period were £681,658 10s. 11d.

(3) The numbers of persons insured under the Unemployment Insurance Acts at the end of the 1932-33 Insurance year (1st October, 1933) as measured by the numbers of Unemployment Insurance Books current on that date were:—
