Vol. 50 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Extension of Shannon Scheme to Macroom.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he has received resolutions from the Macroom Urban Council and Macroom Traders' Association requesting and supporting the extension of the Shannon scheme to Macroom; if he has transmitted these resolutions to the Electricity Supply Board and has received any indication of their proposals in regard to such extension from them; and if he will urge the board either to take over supply to Macroom without delay, or definitely permit the present electricity undertaking to maintain and develop the existing concern.

Dr. Ryan

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. The communications received from the Macroom Urban Council and the Macroom Traders' Association were transmitted to the Electricity Supply Board to whom any further queries in the matter should be addressed.
