Vol. 50 No. 12

Written Answers. - Robe Drainage Scheme.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state whether the Commissioners of Public Works have examined the communications received from the rated occupiers of the lands proposed to be drained under the River Robe Drainage Scheme, and if he will state the aggregate value of the lands occupied by assenting and dissenting occupiers which are proposed in the scheme to be drained or improved.

The assents and dissents received from the occupiers of lands affected by the River Robe Drainage Scheme are being examined by the Commissioners of Public Works. It has been found necessary to reissue some of the voting forms for proper completion and to extend to 6th March, 1934, the period for their return. In the circumstances it is not possible to furnish the information asked for by the Deputy.

It is evident, however, that the aggregate value of the lands occupied by dissenting occupiers will be less than half the total value of all the lands included in the scheme.
