Vol. 51 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Saorstát Yeast Requirements.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state what proportion of the yeast requirements of the Saorstát can now be met by Saorstát manufacturers; and if such manufacturers are not able to meet the full requirements will he permit the import, free of duty, of British or Continental yeast to meet the full requirements of the baking trade.

Saorstát manufacturers are now in a position to supply all the bakers' yeast required in An Saorstát. The latter part of the question does not therefore arise.

All the supplies can be provided locally now?
