Vol. 51 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Exemption of Component Parts of Cubicle Egg Cases.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether in view of the fact that egg merchants in Great Britain will not purchase Irish eggs packed in native timber for cold storage he will consider exempting component parts of cubicle egg cases from the tariff on timber which at present affects them.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply to the last part of the question which he addressed to the Minister for Agriculture on this subject on the 7th February, 1934. I am not prepared to exempt the component parts of egg cases from the duty.

Owing to the unsatisfactory nature of the Minister's reply, I desire to give notice that I shall raise this matter on the Adjournment.
