Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Purchase Annuities Fund.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state what was the amount of the Purchase Annuities Fund at the passing of the Land (Purchase Annuities Fund) Act, 1933; what sums have since been paid into or disposed of for the benefit of the Exchequer out of that Fund, at what times and how such sums have been paid into or disposed of for the benefit of the Exchequer; and further what sums have been credited to the Purchase Annuities Fund since the passing of the Act.

The amount of the Purchase Annuities Fund at the passing of the Land (Purchase Annuities Fund) Act, 1933, was £2,968,795; the sums paid into or disposed of for the benefit of the Exchequer out of that Fund since that date amount to £5,339,512; and these sums were paid into or disposed of for the benefit of the Exchequer at the following times and in the following manner:—

The sums that have been credited to the Purchase Annuities Fund since the passing of the Act amount to £2,499,367.
