Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - National Health Insurance Employees.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state the total number of persons already made redundant and discharged as a result of the abolition of National Health Insurance Societies under the National Health Insurance Act, 1933; and the number of such persons who have been given (a) temporary, and (b) permanent employment in the new National Health Insurance Society.

The total number of persons whose services have been terminated under Section 15 (d) of the National Health Insurance Act, 1933, is 1,010. The number of such persons who have been offered temporary employment by the National Health Insurance Society is 902, of whom 12 refused to accept such employment. The number of such persons who have been offered permanent employment within the meaning of Section 22 (1) (d) of the Act by the National Health Insurance Society is 60. Of these 60 persons two refused and 58 agreed to accept such employment.
