Vol. 53 No. 7

Poultry (Diseases) Bill, 1934—Final Stages.

I move the following amendment:—

In page 2, line 18, section 1, to delete the word "geese."

The definition of poultry in the Bill includes domestic fowls, turkeys, geese, guinea fowls and pigeons. On further consideration it has been decided that it is not necessary to include geese, because if an order is made against the importation of poultry it is thought that it would not be necessary to exclude geese. Therefore, by removing geese from the definition people who want to import geese at such a time will not be under any inconvenience.

Amendment put and agreed to.
Question —"That the Bill, as amended, be received for final consideration"—put and agreed to.

Dr. Ryan

I suggest that the Fifth Stage be taken now if there is no objection.

Agreed.

Question—"That the Bill do now pass"—put and agreed to.
