Vol. 53 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Alleged Hold-up (Ballyporeen).

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state whether he has received a report that on Thursday night, the 14th June, when a young man, a member of the League of Youth, was proceeding to his home at Ballyporeen, he was held up by three masked men armed with two revolvers and one shotgun; that shots were fired over his head, his shirt was torn off him, he was knocked on the road and badly kicked and warned not to report the matter under penalty of death; and if he will state if the persons guilty of this offence have been identified, tried and charged.

Dr. Ryan

As police inquiries are still being pursued in this matter I do not think it advisable to make any statement.
