The total value of Unemployment Insurance Stamps sold in each of the five financial years 1929/30—1933/34 was as follows:— 1929/30, £703,019; 1930/31, £685,798; 1931/32, £497,375; 1932/33, £526,192; 1933/34, £553,360.

The reduction in rates of contribution under the Unemployment Insurance Act, 1930, took effect from 5th January, 1931. The rate for men was reduced from 1/7d to 1/1d and other rates comparably, so that the figures for the following year are affected accordingly.
