The cost of maintenance of adult inmates in these institutions is not segregated in the records of the Department. I would, however, refer the Deputy to page 42 of the Returns of Local Taxation for the year ended 31st March, 1933, which contains under certain headings information as to the average weekly cost per head of maintenance in Poor Law institutions for each county.
Particulars of the annual average cost per patient in each district and auxiliary mental hospital will be found on pages 42 to 45 of the Annual Report of the Inspector of Mental Hospitals for the year 1933.
