Vol. 54 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bogslide at Faha (Co. Clare).

asked the Minister for Lands whether any inspector of the Land Commission has reported on the recent disaster caused by the bog-slide at Faha, Killenana, Co. Clare, and, if so, if he will state what are his intentions in the matter.

An inspector of the Land Commission has made a detailed report on the condition of the holdings on the Hall Estate at Faha, County Clare, affected by the recent bog-slide and has made certain recommendations. These recommendations have been forwarded to the Commissioners of Public Works for consideration of the question of providing assistance out of the Vote for Minor Relief Works. The lands affected are vested lands and any assistance from public funds would, therefore, properly fall upon that Vote which has already, it is understood, provided some money for works of immediate necessity at Faha.
