Vol. 54 No. 3

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take the business as on the Order Paper —Items 8 to 17, inclusive, omitting Items 12 and 13. Items 5 and 6 will be taken in their appropriate places. Public business will be interrupted at 9 o'clock for the taking of Private Members' business. It is proposed, when the business is concluded, that the Dáil should adjourn to Wednesday, 5th December, 1934, at 3 p.m.

As the business on the Order Paper will probably be transacted to-day, will the President say, in the event of there not being more than one day's business next week, what work will be transacted this side of Christmas?

It is hoped that there will be sufficient work for the coming week to warrant the summoning of the Dáil for Wednesday. The business as on the Order Paper is the business to be concluded.

The President will know that there are a number of motions down for Private Members' time. These motions deal with some very important subjects. Will the President consider giving such Government time as would normally be available next week but that will not be required for Government work for the discussion of these private Deputies motions, so that the more important of them may be disposed of next week?

We may be able to give some time. At any rate we will be generous with it next week if the public business is finished.

Would the President be able to tell the House later this evening?

I will make enquiries.

I would be glad if the President would say what he expects to be able to do in the matter of getting rid next week of the motions that appear on the Order Paper in the names of private Deputies.
