Written Answers. - Applications for Unemployment Benefit.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if an application for unemployment benefit was received from Margaret Farrell, Derawley, Drumlish, on November 11th, 1934; if any payment has yet been made in her case, and the cause of the delay in deciding her case.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if an application for unemployment benefit was received from John Hughes, Serial No. 494, Rhyne, Killoe, in July, 1934, and what amount has been paid to him and the dates of such payments and what amount is he in receipt of at the present time.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the cause of the delay in paying unemployment assistance to John McKenna, Moatefarrell, Edgeworthstown, Co. Longford, who has been unemployed for the past 16 weeks and who has been signing and reporting all that time.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce what is the delay in paying unemployment assistance to John J. Hughes, Soran, Ballinalee, Co. Longford, qualification certificate N. 2550, dated 20th September; and if the Minister is aware that the applicant has been unemployed since August last.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if an application for unemployment assistance benefit has been received from William Dennigan, Kilmore, Longford, qualification certificate N. 603, and if benefit has been paid; and, if not, why not.

I propose to deal with Questions Nos. 36 to 40 (inclusive) together.

For the reasons stated in reply to a number of questions addressed to me by Deputy Curran on the 12th December last, I cannot for the present and some time to come see my way to reply to questions regarding individual applications for unemployment assistance.
