In Committee. - Sale of Food and Drugs (Milk) Bill, 1934—From the Seanad.

Section 2 of the Bill empowers the Minister for Agriculture, after consultation with the Minister for Local Government and Public Health, to make regulations fixing the percentages of milk fat, etc. The amendment inserted by the Seanad provides that such regulations shall be laid before each House of the Oireachtas. I move that the Committee agree with the Seanad in the following amendment:—

Section 2. A new sub-section added at the end of the section as follows:

(6) Every regulation made under this section shall be laid before each House of the Oireachtas as soon as may be after such regulation is made and if a resolution annulling such regulation is passed by either House of the Oireachtas within the next subsequent twenty-one days on which that House has sat after such regulation is so laid before it such regulation shall be annulled accordingly, but without prejudice to the validity of any thing previously done under such regulation.
