Written Answers. - Court Statistics.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will furnish a return of the number of days on which the Circuit Court Judge sat in each county during each of the years 1930, 1931, 1932, 1933 and 1934.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will furnish returns similar to those published as appendices 2, 3 and 3 (a) to the Report of the Joint Committee on the Courts of Justice Act, 1924, but covering the period from Michaelmas Sittings, 1929, to Michaelmas Sittings, 1934, or to latest date for which such figures are available.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will furnish a return similar to that published as appendix 4 to the Report of the Joint Committee on the Courts of Justice Act, 1924, so as to bring the detailed information contained in appendix 4 up to date of 1st January, 1935.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will furnish a return of the number of decrees issued in respect of Land Commission annuities in each of the years 1925 to 1934.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will furnish a return showing for each of the years 1925 to 1934 the number of days on which each of the following courts sat—(a) the Court of Criminal Appeal; (b) the Central Criminal Court; (c) the Dublin Circuit Court (for criminal matters), and (d) the other Circuit Courts (for criminal matters).

asked the Minister for Justice if he will furnish a return showing for each of the years in which the Constitution (Special Powers) Tribunal functioned, (a) the number of days on which the said Tribunal sat, and (b) the number of persons tried before the said Tribunal.

Statistics as to the proceedings of the Courts of Justice during each of the legal years 1928-29 to 1932-33 inclusive will be found in the Statistical Abstract for the year 1934 compiled by the Statistics Branch of the Department of Industry and Commerce.

Returns in the precise form suggested by the Deputy's questions are not prepared in the ordinary course, but I shall have them specially prepared, as far as and as soon as possible, for the Deputy's information.
