Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Payments by Annuitants.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state in respect of the November-December gale, 1934, the amount payable by annuitants under the Land Act, 1923, for (a) interest on advances and (b) sinking fund; and if he will state further the amount payable by annuitants under the Land Acts prior to 1923 for both interest and sinking fund in respect of the November, 1934, gale.

The amount payable by land purchase annuitants under the Land Acts, 1923-33, in respect of the November-December gale of 1934 for interest on advances was £252,515 3s. and for sinking fund was £14,028 12s. 4d. The annuities payable under the Land Acts, 1891 to 1909, as revised under the provisions of the Land Act, 1933, are not segregated into interest and sinking fund payments, but the total amount collectible in respect thereof for the November-December gale of 1934 was £782,211. In addition there was payable by the Land Commission annuitants under the Land Acts, 1881-1888, a sum of £51,049.
