Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Housing Subsidies.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state the number of houses (in respect of which subsidies are payable) completed and in progress during the year ended 31st March, 1935, segregating them according to whether they are being built by (a) private persons and public utility societies, and (b) local authorities; and further if he will state the average number of persons employed monthly on housing schemes carried out by local authorities during the quarter ended 31st December, 1934, and the quarter ended 31st March, 1935, respectively.

The number of houses completed and in progress during the year ended 31st March, 1935, and in respect of which subsidies are payable are as follows:—

The average number of persons employed monthly on housing schemes carried out by local authorities during the quarter ended 31st December, 1934, was 7,603, and during the quarter ended 31st March, 1935, the average number was 7,690.
