Vol. 56 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Use of Motor Farm Tractors—Donegal Prosecutions.

asked the Minister for Justice whether he is aware that at Newtowncunningham District Court on the 20th April, Mr. James K. Baird and Mr. Thomas B. Rankin, two East Donegal farmers, were prosecuted by the Gárda with reference to the use of a motor farm tractor; and if he will state (1) what was the total number of summonses issued against these men; (2) whether these men had immediately complied with the law when warned by the Gárda, and (3) whether these tractors were used for farming purposes only.

I am aware that Mr. Baird and Mr. Rankin were prosecuted as stated. Four summonses were issued, two in each case. As regards questions (2) and (3) definite information is not available.
