Vol. 59 No. 16

Flax Bill, 1935—First Stage.

Leave granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to make provision for promoting the more extensive growing of flax, and for that purpose to make provision for the regulation and control of the growing, scutching, and sale of flax, and for divers matters ancillary to or connected with the matters aforesaid—(Minister for Agriculture).
Second Stage ordered for Wednesday, 5th February, 1936.

Dr. Ryan

The Bill will be circulated about the middle of January.

It is very important that this measure should be considered by the Dáil at the earliest possible moment; otherwise, we will be into the flax season. I take it there will not be anything contentious in it.

Dr. Ryan

It will be taken as quickly as possible, as soon as it is available.

It is also important to have the Agricultural Seeds Bill considered as early as possible.
