Vol. 59 No. 17

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Prices of Brick.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether the Prices Commission have completed their investigation into the prices charged for Saorstát manufactured bricks; whether the report arising out of the investigation or any part of it has been received from the Prices Commission; whether it is proposed to publish the report or other information available regarding the prices charged for bricks, and whether the Minister proposes to take any action arising out of the investigation undertaken by the Prices Commission.

The Prices Commission has not reported that it has completed its investigation into the prices charged for Saorstát manufactured bricks. I have received a report on the investigation made by the Commission into the prices charged for bricks by one Saorstát brick manufacturer. It is not at present my intention to publish that report.

Until I receive from the Prices Commission its report on the completed investigation I cannot say what action will be taken on the recommendations which may be made in the report.
