The statistical returns of the Department are prepared in respect of the school year ending on the 30th June in each calendar year. The returns for the school year ended on the 30th June, 1935, are not finally completed but, subject to revision as the work of compilation of the returns proceeds, the following are the approximate figures for that school year under the heads in the question:—
