Vol. 60 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Central Sorting and Delivery Office.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he is yet in a position to state when the work of erecting a new central sorting and delivery office at Pearse Street, Dublin, will be commenced.

Mr. Boland

The specification for the first section of the scheme—the new central garage and workshops—is being completed. I am not, however, in a position to say when the work of building will commence.

Arising out of the Minister's reply, is there any danger that this work will commence this year?

Mr. Boland

I do not know, but I am told that there is. I am not prepared, however, to say anything further in that regard.

Arising out of the Minister's reply, what is the cost of the engineering expenses incurred in the inquiries going on for years?

That is a separate question.
