Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Price of Bread.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the retail prices of the 4 lb. loaf obtaining in Dublin at the various times in each of the years 1933 and 1935.

The retail price of the 4 lb. loaf delivered in the Dublin area in the year 1933 was 8½d. The retail price in 1935 up to the 27th May was 8½d. when it was increased to 9d. The price was increased to 9½d. on the 22nd July, 1935, and to 10d. on the 14th October, 1935. The price of the 4 lb. loaf sold over the baker's counter is a penny less in all cases.
