Vol. 60 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Trade Pact with Germany.

asked the Minister for External Affairs if he will assure the House that any trade pact entered into with Germany will not be less favourable to us than the recently negotiated pact with the British Government.

I can only assure the Deputy that in any negotiations with foreign Governments nothing will be left undone to secure the most favourable terms possible for Saorstát Eireann.

Are we to understand that it is now admitted by the Opposition that the recent settlement was a favourable one?

That does not arise.

I should like to ask Deputy Norton and the President a question on that.
