Vol. 60 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Inspection Costs.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether, in view of the fact that the agricultural community are already experiencing great difficulty in meeting the demands which are being made upon them for rates, he will take steps to have the cost of the inspectors under the Warble Fly Order borne by the Central Fund.

Dr. Ryan

As warble fly infestation is now a scheduled disease under the Diseases of Animals Acts, the expenditure in connection therewith will be dealt with in the same way as other expenditure in connection with animal health, such, for example, as that on sheep dipping, i.e., the local authority concerned will be recouped one-half of their expenditure from the General Cattle Diseases Fund.
