asked the Minister for Lands whether he received a petition signed by 20 uneconomic holders and landless men in the vicinity of Haroldstown, Tobinstown, County Carlow, requesting him to acquire for the purpose of redistribution a derelict ranch consisting of 150 acres, approximately, in the townlands of Ballygalduff and Ratheen, County Carlow, whether he is aware that the present owner of these lands does not reside in this country and that the property is used as grazing land while many of the petitioners have not sufficient land on which to grow food for their families and whether in the circumstances it is his intention to acquire and distribute the farm in question.

A petition dated 21st March, 1936, signed by 21 uneconomic holders and landless men in the vicinity of Haroldstown, Tobinstown, County Carlow, relating to acquisition of 150 acres of land in the adjoining townlands of Ballygalduff and Raheen has been received by the Land Commission. Inquiries in relation thereto have been instituted by the Land Commission.
