Vol. 61 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - French Mining Experts' Report.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if any report has been furnished to his Department by the French firm of mining experts conducting operations in the Arigna coal districts— Counties Roscommon and Leitrim—on the prospects of successful development in that area; and, if so, what is the nature of the report.

I have not yet received the report mentioned by the Deputy.

Can the Minister say when he expects to receive it? Apart from the question asked over a month ago, can he say why there has been such great delay?

I do not think there has been great delay, having regard to the work to be done before the report is prepared.

I wonder what examination was necessary when the actual prospecting work was long since over.

An analysis of the prospecting work.
