Vol. 63 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - School Meals in West Cork.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he has received a communication from the West Cork Board of Health, embodying an appeal made by the Reverend Father Ferris, P.P., Allihies, to have the school meals scheme extended to his parish, and if the Minister will consider the advisability of amending the Act so as to include in its provisions Allihies, Adrigole, Eyeries, Berehaven and other places in Bearna peninsula, where conditions warrant the application of the scheme.

There is no trace of the communication referred to by the Deputy. As regards the second part of the question, further funds are not available for the purpose, and it is not proposed to amend the School Meals (Gaeltacht) Acts, as there has not been any general demand therefor.
