Dáil Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 11 Nov 1936

Vol. 64 No. 2

Public Business. - Appointment of Ministers.

Tá orm a chraoladh gur chuireas in úil go cuibhe don t-Seanascal gur aontuigh Dáil Eireann le Gearóid O Beoláin d'ainmniú mar Aire Tailte, agus le h-Oscar MacThréinfhir d'ainmniú mar Aire Puist agus Telegráfa, agus gur ceapadh iad dá réir.

Is it in accordance with precedent that the assent of the Governor-General to the appointment of Mr. Boland and Mr. Traynor should be announced during Private Members' time?

Private Members' time has not been reached. I asked the Minister for Agriculture to move the adjournment of the debate on the Agricultural Wages Bill and then the President made his announcement.

Then the Governor-General's assent is properly reported to the Dáil on this occasion?

The appointment has been made.

I thought Deputy Corry might miss the point; it was carefully veiled.
