Vol. 65 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wages Rates to L.C. Labourers.

asked the Minister for Lands whether any decision has yet been reached in regard to the rates of pay of labourers employed by the Land Commission which he stated on February 26th, 1936, was then under consideration; if so, whether he will indicate the nature of the decision arrived at; and if no decision has been reached, whether he is in a position to state when it is expected to reach a decision.

Mr. Boland

As stated by the former Minister for Lands during the course of the debate on the Vote for Lands on the 7th May last, the rates of wages for labourers employed by the Land Commission on estate improvement works will be reviewed when minimum rates of wages in respect of each wages district have been fixed by the Agricultural Wages Board to be set up under the Agricultural Wages Act, 1936.
