Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Consumption of Beer, Spirits, Wines and Cider.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the quantities of beer, spirits, cider and wines retained for home consumption in Saorstát Eireann in the calendar year 1936.

The quantities of beer, spirits, cider and wines retained for home consumption in the calendar year 1936 were:—

Beer, 598,542 standard barrels.

Spirits, 756,474 proof gallons.

Cider, 81,418 gallons.

Wines, 455,196 gallons.

The figure shown for cider relates to imported cider only as no particulars are available in regard to the quantity of home-made cider retained for home consumption.
