Vol. 65 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Longford Hospital Site.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he is aware that the grounds of the Seán Connolly Barracks in Longford are most suitable for a hospital site in Longford, and have all the necessary requirements, and if he will arrange with the Departments concerned to make this site suitable for this essential social service, and if he is aware that this course will avoid either interference or acquisition of Church lands belonging to the Church Body, Church of Ireland, in the County Longford.

I have not obtained any report as to the suitability of the site referred to. I am aware, however, that the local authority rejected it on the ground that the price sought for it was too high. The matter will be further investigated.
