Vol. 66 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Appointment of Mayo Gangers.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state the number of gangers and charge hands appointed by the Mayo County Council for the Dáil division of North Mayo during the winter and spring months in each of the last three years; the number of such appointees who were appointed for the first time in the current year, and the number of gangers and charge hands employed in previous years who have not been re-employed in the current year, and if he will state the reasons for not reappointing the men concerned in the current year.

The employment of road gangers and charge hands rests with county councils. I have no information on the matters referred to by the Deputy.
