Vol. 67 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mayo Postal Deliveries.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he is prepared (a) to approve a daily postal delivery in the areas served by the Carrowteige and Porturlin sub-post offices in North Mayo, and (b) to establish a money order office and a telegraph office either in Porturlin or Carrowteige sub-offices, having regard to the fact that the nearest telegraph office is seven miles distant and the nearest money order office 14 miles distant.

I am having the position examined as regards (a) affording a daily postal delivery in the Carrowteige and Porturlin sub-post office districts and (b) establishing a money order office and telegraph office at either Porturlin or Carrowteige; and when the inquiries are completed I will communicate the result to the Deputy.
