Vol. 67 No. 11

Written Answers. - Logan Estate (Mayo).

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that John Duffy, Sharaheen, Aughagower, Westport, a tenant on the Logan Estate (County Mayo) (R.O. 16817), made several applications to the Irish Land Commission for a receivable order to enable him to pay his rent; that he received no reply; that the Irish Land Commission gave instructions to the sheriff to collect the rent; that the tenant has been put to considerable expense and if he will take steps to have the sheriff's costs refunded to the tenant.

Mr. Boland

There is no record in the Collection Branch of any application for a receivable order having been received from John Duffy. A receivable order was issued for lodgment of the June, 1936, instalment and as the amount due had not come to credit in July last a six-day notice was issued without result. In January last a second six-day notice was issued for lodgment of the June, 1936 and December, 1936, instalments, and as no payment was made, a warrant was issued to the Under-Sheriff for collection of these instalments.
