Written Answers. - Military Pension Claims.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state the present position of the claim to a military service pension of Michael Murphy, Taur, Newmarket, County Cork, and Eugene O'Sullivan, Dromanig, Tullylease, County Cork; if it is proposed to call both applicants for examination before the board at an early date, and when the cases are likely to be disposed of.

The claim of Mr. Michael Murphy, Taur, Newmarket, County Cork, has been referred for report to the referee. No claim has been received from Eugene O'Sullivan, Dromanig, Tullylease, County Cork, but a claim has been received from Eugene O'Sullivan, Dromanig, Drumcollogher, County Limerick, which has been referred for report to the referee. The examination of claims is a matter for the referee, but the question will be brought under his notice with a view to having the claims dealt with as expeditiously as possible.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state when he expects to be able to arrive at a decision on the claim of Mr. Francis Murphy, Kilgreaney, Bagenalstown, County Carlow, for a military service pension.

The application of Mr. Francis Murphy, Kilgreaney, Bagenalstown, County Carlow, for a service certificate under the terms of the Military Service Pensions Act, 1934, has been referred for investigation and report to the referee. The Deputy's question has been brought to the referee's notice with a view to having a decision on the case expedited as far as possible.
