Vol. 68 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kerry Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that repeated requests have been made for the acquisition of an untenanted plot of land on the Canon Kennedy estate, Caragh Lake, County Kerry, for the purpose of building houses for a number of tenants of the said estate, and, further, if the Minister is aware that said plot is now being offered for sale by public auction, and if any steps can be taken to secure said plot for the purpose of such housing required by tenants.

The matter is being investigated by the Land Commission, and the Deputy will be duly informed as to what, if any, action may be taken for the acquisition of the plot in question.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that repeated requests have been made for the acquisition of 29 acres of turbary on the Leslie Kenny estate, Caragh Lake, County Kerry, for division between tenants of the said estate; and, further, if he is aware that the said turbary is now being offered for sale by public auction, and if any steps can be taken to acquire said turbary for the tenants of the said estate.

Mr. Boland

The particulars supplied are not sufficient to enable the Land Commission to identify the estate in question. If the Deputy will be good enough to furnish the name of the townland on which the turbary is situate, and the name of the rated occupier, further inquiries will be made in the matter, and the result of the inquiries will be communicated to him.
