Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wages on Drainage and Relief Schemes.
(a) The rates of wages paid on relief schemes are as follows:—
For all Counties.
I. Roads Improvements Schemes in Urban and Rural Areas: The daily rates are those paid by the local authorities for analogous work.
II. Public Health Works: The general rule is that the rates of wages are fixed as between the contractor and the men employed on the basis that they shall not be less advantageous to the workman than the rates fixed by agreement for the same kind of work in the district where such agreement exists; or, in default of such agreement, by the most suitable criterion derived from analogous work in the vicinity.
III. Peat Development Schemes and Minor Employment Schemes: (All counties), 4/- per day.
