Vol. 69 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Revesting of County Kerry Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state, in regard to the lands of Curraghweesha, Listowel, County Kerry (Collection No. 85/56), formerly vested in the name of Thomas MacMahon, the amount by which the land annuities calculated since February, 1928, exceed the proceeds of the sale by the Land Commission of the produce of the said lands, and whether the Commission will favourably consider the revesting of the lands in the former holder; and, if so, on what terms.

Mr. Boland

This question relates to a defaulter's holding of which the Land Commission have been in possession since February, 1928, following the eviction of the former tenant purchaser, Thomas McMahon.

The Land Commission's outgoings in respect of the lands since February, 1928 exceed by £56 4s. 5d. the revenue derived from the lands.

Any offer which Mr. Thomas McMahon may make to the Land Commission for the purchase of the holding, of which he has been caretaker since the date of his eviction, will be considered by reference to this sum of £56 4s. 5d. and in conjunction with any other offers which may be received.
