Vol. 69 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Tipperary Right of Way.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that repeated applications have been made to the Land Commission for a proper right of way to his holding by Michael Gorman, Garranroe, Thurles, County Tipperary, that the present right of way is 1¼ miles from the main road; that a threshing machine or beet lorry are unable to gain access to his holding through this passage, and he is obliged to carry his corn and beet to the main road; that this man could be accommodated with a passage at a distance of 300 yards to the main road, and if steps will now be taken to ensure that such accommodation is provided.

Mr. Boland

The Land Commission have made enquiries into this matter and after full consideration of the circumstances, decided to take no action in providing a new right of way for Michael O'Gorman.

The Minister does not know the circumstances of this case and I would ask him to see that a proper right-of-way is given. This man cannot get an engine into his place to do his threshing and he still has last year's crop which he has not threshed yet.

Mr. Boland

My information is that if he went about it properly, he could get a right-of-way.

He has no access to his place at present except through another man's land.

Mr. Boland

He has, if he cares to fix it up. That is my information.
