Vol. 69 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cost of Building Materials.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether, in view of the great increase in the cost of building materials during the past three years, he is prepared to sanction the payment of grants in respect of houses costing not more than £400 erected by local authorities based on the full cost of the house.

I am unable to supply the Deputy with any information on this matter at present.

Might I point out that a similar question was addressed to the Minister the last time the House sat and in his reply then he said he proposed to make a statement on the subject in the following week? That was about three weeks ago.

I thought it was not quite clear from the question what exactly it was the Deputy was asking for.
