Vol. 69 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork City Management Act.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he has now fully considered the representation made by the Cork Corporation in favour of the amendment of the Cork City Management Act, and if he proposes to amend the Act accordingly.

The reply to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. As regards the second part, I am not prepared to introduce proposals for an amendment of the Act embodying all the representations of the Corporation. They were notified of the extent to which their proposals could be considered, and until agreement is reached amending legislation cannot be proceeded with.

Can the Minister say how many of the proposals he is prepared to consider favourably?

There was a number of them. I cannot say the number.
