Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that a number of applications have been made for parcels of land on the estate of the late John Dinan at Castlemartyr, County Cork, and if these lands have been inspected and passed as suitable for division; and, if so, whether a scheme has been prepared and put before the Commissioners for sanction; and, further, if these lands are acquired for division, whether he is prepared to sanction the acquisition of a plot for the local football club.

The Land Commission have had an inspection made of the lands of Castlemartyr and Bridgetown in occupation of the executors of John Dinan (deceased), and an offer for the purchase of an area of some 192 acres has been accepted by the owners.

The question of allotment of a plot for the local football club will be considered when the scheme for division of the lands is being prepared.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that a large number of congests and landless men have applied for parcels of land on the estate of Mrs. Constance Oliver at Streamhill, Doneraile, and whether the lands have been inspected and passed as suitable for division; and, if so, when a scheme will be prepared and put before the Commissioners for division.

The Land Commission are having an inspection made of the lands of Streamhill East and West in the occupation of Constance N. Oliver, in order to ascertain the suitability of the lands for their purposes, and on receipt of report the question of acquisition will be considered.
