Vol. 69 No. 12

Written Answers. - Division of Land in Swinford (County Mayo).

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether a scheme for the resettlement of holdings on the D'Arcy estate, Swinford, County Mayo, is contemplated by the Irish Land Commission; and, if so, what progress has been made with the work, and when the proposed scheme is likely to be put into operation.

Mr. Boland

The Land Commission intend to take the necessary steps for completing the resale of the D'Arcy estate as soon as they are in a position to deal with the rearrangement of the holdings thereon. It is not possible at present to state when this work can be taken in hand, but special attention is now being devoted to completing the settlement of the remaining Congested Districts Board estates, of which this is one. A specially trained staff is required for this purpose, and the work will proceed as rapidly as circumstances permit.
