In Committee on Finance. - Housing and Labourers Bill, 1937—Money Resolution.

I move:—

That it is expedient to authorise that pursuant to the provisions of any Act of the present session to amend and extend the Housing (Financial and Miscellaneous Provisions) Acts, 1932 to 1936, to amend Sections 16 and 17 of the Labourers Act, 1936, and to provide for certain other matters consequential upon the amending of the said sections, the aggregate amount of the grants to be made by the Minister for Local Government and Public Health under Section 5 of the Housing (Financial and Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1932, as amended by the Housing (Financial and Miscellaneous Provisions) (Amendment) Act, 1934, and the Housing (Financial and Miscellaneous Provisions) (Amendment) Acts (Nos. 1 and 2), 1936, shall be increased from a sum of £2,800,000 (Two Million Eight Hundred Thousand Pounds) to a sum not exceeding £3,500,000 (Three Million Five Hundred Thousand Pounds); and to authorise the payment out of moneys provided by the Oireachtas of any such expenses as are considered necessary to give effect to any such Act.
