Vol. 70 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Bus Traffic.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he is aware that considerable congestion exists at Eden Quay and Burgh Quay during rush hours, and if he will take steps to have by-laws made to provide for the erection of rails so that the public may be arranged in order of arrival, and the present scrambles according to "jungle laws" abolished.

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. As regards the second part of the question, I have no power to make any such by-laws but measures for the better regulation of the traffic are receiving attention.

When does the Minister hope to be able to make any statement as to the promulgation of those regulations?

I could not say.
