Vol. 70 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Local Authorities and Relief Grants.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state the amounts of money given by each local authority to supplement grants given in their areas for the relief of unemployment over the last three years.

No statistics of this nature are compiled in the Department as they are not deemed essential for any purpose. The annual returns of local taxation published by the Department show the receipts and expenditure of local authorities under various heads, but without reference to the amount of expenditure incurred for the relief of unemployment.
