Vol. 70 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Division of Meath Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state when the Craig Waller Estate at Allenstown, Kells. County Meath, will be divided; if he is aware that a congested district exists in this locality; if it is proposed to establish a migrant colony on the estate, and, if so, will he now reconsider the decision to establish a migrant colony in view of local congestion and have this estate divided amongst local applicants.

Mr. Boland

It is not yet possible to state when the Land Commission will be in a position to divide the Craig Waller Estate at Allenstown, County Meath. It is proposed to establish a migrant colony on the lands provided that the needs of suitable local applicants for parcels of land on the estate can first be met. The Land Commission are making a special investigation of the local conditions with this end in view.
